Homeless man’s martial arts dance stops traffic on Thai road

Martial arts dancer stops traffic, leaving commuters stunned and baffled

A disturbed homeless man, seen performing a martial arts dance in the middle of a busy road, recently alarmed passing motorists to manoeuvre around him.

TikTok user @suttida.25 shared a video of the shocking incident, capturing the man holding an umbrella while showcasing his moves. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 4 at around 3pm, as reported by KhaoSod Online.

The video’s uploader, Nook, a teacher who witnessed the event while travelling from Bangkok to Surin, shared her account of the unusual spectacle. The video has since been removed.

During her journey, Nook was guided by GPS onto a route through Nakhon Ratchasima towards Cho Ho. Traffic slowed down at one point, and she noticed other vehicles swerving to avoid an obstruction. Upon reaching the scene, she found a man in the left lane, seemingly holding an object and performing martial arts moves.

Initially, she thought he might be wielding a weapon, such as a gun or sword, and quickly began filming. However, it became apparent that he was merely holding an umbrella.

A motorcyclist had also stopped nearby, presumably alerting officials, while other drivers took care to avoid the man.

Nook expressed her surprise at witnessing such a scene, as she’d never encountered anything like it before. She speculated that the man might be mentally unstable, possibly due to the weather or other factors. His performance included using a jerry can and an umbrella as makeshift props.

Based on her observations, he did not seem to possess any dangerous weapons or pose a threat to the passing cars. Although Nook had never seen him before, she noted that similar incidents were often shared online but typically occurred elsewhere, reported KhaoSod.

After posting the video, Nook did not anticipate the level of attention it received, as it quickly gained views overnight. In response, she added a message to the clip urging drivers who may encounter the man to be cautious and give him space.

She hoped that locals would notify authorities, ensuring the man’s safety and preventing potential accidents from occurring due to high-speed vehicles.
