Couple arrested in Bangkok for selling drug-laced vape liquids

Police arrested a couple caught selling electronic cigarettes mixed with illicit drugs from their residence. The operation yesterday, April 8, led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom and his team, uncovered a significant quantity of drugs and related items at their home in Sai Mai, Bangkok.

The arrested suspects, 35 year old Theeraporn and 33 year old Tawiphop, were found with 1.68 grammes of crystal methamphetamine, 32 grammes of ketamine, eight methamphetamine tablets, a digital scale, a black Deli safe, drug paraphernalia, 24 vape pods, two bank books, a bottle of vape liquid mixed with ketamine, and 17 bottles of regular vape liquid.

Additional items seized included a pack of blue ziplock bags, 100 medium-sized clear ziplock bags, 450 small clear ziplock bags, a blue COACH bag, three COACH bags, and three mobile phones. The arrest took place outside a house on Permsin Road on April 7 at approximately 5.30pm, under a search warrant issued by Min Buri Criminal Court on the same day.

Upon arrival, the police found Tawiphop at the entrance of the house. After presenting the search warrant, the officers questioned him, confirming his residence at the location with Theeraporn, who owns the house.

The search led to the discovery of the aforementioned items. Theeraporn admitted to storing the drugs in the bedroom and confirmed that the drugs belonged to both her and Tawi Phop.

She explained they were purchased for personal use and distribution among friends. She also stated that she mixed methamphetamine and ketamine with the vape liquid and sold it to interested youths, having done so for about two years. The drugs were supplied by a 39 year old man named Mawin Naluan from Rangsit.

Voluntary drug screening showed both suspects tested positive for drugs. Despite this, they declined participation in drug rehabilitation programmes.

Consequently, their urine samples were sent for further analysis at the Princess Mother National Institute for Drug Abuse Treatment, revealing the presence of methamphetamine, reported KhaoSod.

The couple faces charges including possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, illegal drug use, possession of ketamine for personal use, and handling contraband items not cleared by customs under the Customs Act of 2017. They have been handed over to the Sai Mai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
