The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) today announced a summer storm will hit 40 provinces with heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and lightning, in its daily weather forecast.

This phenomenon is expected to impact the northeastern and eastern regions, while other regions will face similar conditions subsequently. Northern Thailand is experiencing generally hot weather, with extremely hot conditions in some areas of the north and central regions.

Residents in the upper regions of Thailand are advised to exercise caution during the summer storm, avoiding travel in stormy areas or being in open spaces, under large trees, or near unstable structures and billboards.

Farmers are encouraged to strengthen their crops and prepare to protect their agricultural products and livestock from potential damage. It is also important for everyone to take care of their health during this period of changing weather.

The high-pressure or cold air mass currently covering upper Laos and Vietnam will extend to the northeast and the South China Sea today. Meanwhile, the low-pressure area due to heat covers upper Thailand, with southerly and southeasterly winds prevailing over these areas. The easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are weak, resulting in light rain in southern Thailand.

Dust and haze accumulation in the northern and northeastern regions is at moderate levels and is expected to decrease due to stronger winds and thunderstorms.
