Bangkok chills as the north blows in, while the south stays soaked

Bangkok is experiencing strong winds and a drop in temperature, which mirrors the cooler conditions in the north and northeast. Meanwhile, heavy rain persists in parts of the south.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts that a high-pressure system or cool air mass is affecting upper Thailand, leading to cooler temperatures and strong winds, with some thunderstorms expected in the north.
In the north, cool morning weather is accompanied by thunderstorms in 10% of the area, primarily affecting Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, and Tak provinces. Temperatures here range from a minimum of 16 to 23 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 25 to 38 degrees Celsius.
The northeast also experiences cool mornings and strong winds, with temperatures ranging from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius to 28 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Central Thailand sees a slight temperature drop with strong winds. Temperatures range from a low of 22 to 24 degrees Celsius to a high of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
In the east, temperatures slightly decrease with strong winds, with a minimum of 21 to 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. The sea in this region has waves approximately 1 metre high, increasing to 1 to 2 metres offshore.
In the south, the eastern coast is experiencing thunderstorms in 20% of the area, with heavy rain expected in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat provinces. Temperatures range from 23 to 27 degrees Celsius to 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.
From Surat Thani upwards, the sea sees waves of 1 to 2 metres, with stormy areas experiencing waves over 2 metres. From Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards, sea waves are 2 to 3 metres high, exceeding 3 metres in stormy areas.
On the western coast of the south, thunderstorms cover 20% of the area, mainly in Trang and Satun provinces. Temperatures here range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius to 32 to 36 degrees Celsius. The sea experiences waves of 1 to 2 metres, rising over 2 metres in stormy areas offshore, reported KhaoSod.
In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, temperatures are slightly decreasing with strong winds. The lowest temperatures range from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, while the highest are between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius.
