Young woman stabbed in Bang Lamung after relationship breakup
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday in Bang Lamung, Chon Buri, when a young man, angered by a breakup, stabbed a young woman before fatally wounding himself to escape the consequences. Police rushed the injured woman to the hospital for immediate treatment.
Around 12.36am today, October 31, Apinan Sritongrungrup, a duty officer at Bang Lamung Police Station, received a report of an assault involving a knife at a dormitory in Bang Lamung. He arrived at the scene with Navin Sindhurat, the superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station, along with police investigators and local rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya.
The scene revealed the body of a 29 year old Myanmar national lying in a pool of blood. He had sustained four stab wounds to the left side of his chest, with one piercing his heart. Nearby, a 15-centimetre fruit knife was found, along with a Honda PCX motorcycle registered in Rayong, parked 5 metres from the dormitory entrance.
Jiraporn, a 24 year old woman, was found severely injured at the entrance of the dormitory. She had been stabbed twice in the chest and had a wound on her right hand. Crying out for help, she caught the attention of a nearby unnamed resident.
“Initially, no one dared to come out, but upon seeing a woman in distress, we called out for others to assist.”
The resident was shocked to discover the lifeless man near a lamppost, away from the entrance.
Pramot, a rescue official, relayed the incident as described by the injured woman. She had given the man a ride on her motorcycle to the location. Upon dismounting, she expressed her desire to end the relationship, which enraged him.
In response, he pulled out a knife he had brought along and stabbed her in the chest. Believing she was dead, due to the severity of the wounds and the profuse bleeding, he turned the knife on himself, reported KhaoSod.
Apinan documented the scene and coordinated with the investigation team at Bang Lamung Police Station to gather evidence from witnesses and CCTV footage. However, no footage has been disclosed yet.
The heartbreaking incident is suspected to have stemmed from a romantic dispute, as the man was dissatisfied with the woman’s decision to break up.
