Heritage meets high-tech: Thailand’s Agri-Innovation Fest is a feast for all senses

If you think agriculture is just about rice paddies and tropical fruit, you are sorely mistaken. Thailand’s farming heritage is being reimagined with cutting-edge innovation, and right now, you can see (and shop) it all at the Nature for Future: Agriculture + Innovation pop-up store at King Power Rangnam, daily until September 21, 2025.

Presented by the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with King Power, the fest features more than 60 groundbreaking, innovative agricultural products that combine Thai agricultural roots with modern technology and creativity.

The Agri-Innovation Fest is a showcase of Thai ingenuity, and an open invitation for shoppers to support the next generation of local entrepreneurs.

From rice to reinvention

Thailand’s world-famous rice doesn’t just appear in bowls anymore. At this pop-up store, you’ll find waffles and cookies made with Thai rice instead of wheat flour, high in fibre, rich in prebiotics, and allergen-free.

And if that isn’t surprising enough, there’s also Thailand’s first-ever vegan rice cheese, a unique creation already attracting foodies and wellness enthusiasts.

Beauty rooted in Thai herbs

Centuries of Thai herbal knowledge are finding new expressions. A highlight is a serum enriched with five traditional Thai herbs, Centella, turmeric, liquorice, onion, and aloe vera, infused with Japanese liposome technology for deep skin benefits.

Another head-turner is a vegan All-in-One Intense Serum, powered by Phycocyanin from blue-green algae harvested in Kung Krabaen Bay, a natural ingredient said to rival the effects of Botox, without the needles.

And for fragrance lovers, Ayada’s natural perfumes take inspiration from torch ginger and the rare Waan Sao Long herb. Once little more than decorative plants, they’re now bottled into scents that are modern, exotic, and unmistakably Thai.

A taste of Thai creativity

Foodies will be delighted by the surprises here: chilli-infused coffee, tom yum-flavoured granola, and mango-based sauces rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene. For something hearty, there’s the long shelf-life rice-flour noodles (also known as boat noodles) with herbs that bring an authentic Thai street food experience straight into your kitchen.

For snacking, try pressed coconut bites made with spray-dry technology, a dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free treat that’s both nutritious and delicious.

Innovation with purpose

Beyond the novelty, what unites all these products is their deep connection to Thailand’s agricultural roots. By turning local ingredients, rice, herbs, coconuts, and even natural rubber, into world-class innovations, Thai entrepreneurs are proving that tradition and technology can move forward together.
