Bang Lamung police arrested two Thai men on suspicion of stealing a motorbike. At 6pm yesterday, August 15, police raided a house in the Nong Yai 14 area of the Nongprue sub-district, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. This operation was initiated after a 40 year old man reported his grey-red Honda Wave 125 motorcycle stolen around 4.08pm on August 10.

Saroj Suwankhiri admitted he had left the key in the bike, an oversight he deeply regretted. After reporting the theft, he reached out to the media for assistance in locating his stolen vehicle.

At the suspects’ house, police found 35 year old Thongchai Khaphondee and 31 year old Chakrapan Bamrungphakdee. Despite their initial denials, the stolen motorcycle was discovered in their possession, repainted from grey-red to black. CCTV footage also clearly showed the two suspects committing the theft, reported The Pattaya News.

During questioning, Thongchai claimed he had tried to stop Chakrapan from stealing the bike. Chakrapan, on the other hand, confessed, stating it was his first time and he needed money to repay a debt. However, police remain sceptical and have detained both suspects for further investigation and legal action.

In related news, police in the Bang Kaeo district of Phatthalung province successfully dismantled a motorcycle theft ring that targeted Honda Wave motorcycles for resale in neighbouring countries.

This operation was led by Adirek Thongkamkaew, the superintendent of Bang Kaew Police Station, along with officers Wasan Wongruang and Danai Kaewnarn. Four individuals were arrested during the operation.

The suspects include 46 year old Somporn, also known as Moo, 38 year old Sasirat, also known as Tarn, 31 year old Wiwat, also known as Ton, and Phichit, also known as Mat.

Police seized a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with the registration number 3ฒง 4427 from Bangkok, four mobile phones, and four motorcycle licence plates at an unnumbered shelter at the end of Soi Srisampan, Moo 15, Bang Pla subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province.
