2 dead, including 15 month old boy, in traffic accident in north-east Thailand
A man and a 15 month old boy have died, while an 11 year old child has been injured, in a collision between a 10-wheeler truck and a motorbike. The Bangkok Post reports that the collision happened last night, in the north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima.
The 55 year old truck driver, Thongpoon Buakkhunthod, says he was travelling on the Nakhon Ratchasima to Chok Chai road, when he was forced to swerve to avoid a car that had pulled out in front of him. In attempting to avoid the car, he hit the motorbike on his right, which was carrying 3 people and waiting to perform a U-turn.
The 34 year old motorbike driver, named as Anupong Puangphet, and 15 month old Aswin Khaikrathok, were killed, while 11 year old Siva Khaikrathok was injured in the collision. The bodies of the victims and the injured boy have all been taken to Chok Chai Hospital, and a police investigation launched.
