Thai woman dies after reconciling with husband over mistress

A heartbroken Thai woman died from a congenital disease today shortly after making headlines on Thai news outlets for allowing her husband to take a mistress.

Police officers were called to the National Housing Authority accommodation in the central province of Chai Nat on Wednesday, March 12, to intervene in a heated argument between the couple: 46 year old Keng and 56 year old Wassana.

Upon arrival, officers found the pair arguing in front of their distressed seven year old daughter. Several residents gathered outside their homes to watch the argument due to its volume.

According to a report on Channel 7, Wassana locked her sidecar motorcycle with a chain and cut off the ignition switch wire to prevent her husband from taking it away. She shouted at him, accusing him of abandoning the family to be with a mistress who was younger and more attractive than her.

Police managed to calm the situation, convincing the couple to discuss the matter more amicably and lowering their voices to avoid disturbing the community.

The argument eventually subsided, and Wassana urged her husband to stay with his mistress and retrieve the motorcycle the following morning.

Later, media outlets reported that the couple reconciled and remained together after the police left the scene. Keng revealed that his wife suffered from diabetes and that her condition worsened that night, prompting him to stay and care for her.

Keng added that they managed to agree on the relationship. His wife had permitted him to continue seeing his mistress occasionally.

Keng kissed his wife in front of the journalists’ cameras and apologised to neighbours for the disturbance caused that day.

Tragically, not long after announcing their reconciliation, Keng had to rush his wife to Jainad Narendra Hospital at 12.30am today, March 14, after her condition deteriorated. Wassana later died from acute kidney failure.

Speaking to Amarin TV, Keng expressed his sorrow at her sudden passing, lamenting that they had just reunited and had not had the time together they had hoped for.

He also shared that Wassana had recently expressed her wish for them to be soulmates in every future life. Keng affirmed that he would always love her and made a promise to take the best possible care of their child despite her absence.
