Thai teen shoots neighbour dead over alleged affair with mother
A 17 year old Thai boy fatally shot neighbour in Pathum Thani province, blaming the victim for having an affair with his mother and causing ongoing conflict within his family.
Police from Thanyaburi Police Station were alerted to the shooting at around 1pm yesterday, February 4, by a local community leader, Thanee Suekui. The incident occurred in the Thanyaburi district of Pathum Thani province.
The victim was identified as Paisarn, a 41 year old Thai man who worked as a district manager for a well-known franchise restaurant operating in shopping malls.
Paisarn was sitting on his motorcycle when he was shot, causing the bike to topple over onto the roadside. He suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thanee told police that Paisarn had approached him seeking advice and expressing fear for his safety. Paisarn reportedly said that a neighbour, Pong, accused him of having an affair with his wife. Paisarn denied the allegation and insisted he had never engaged in a romantic or sexual relationship with the woman.

Police reviewed CCTV footage from the area and determined that the shooter was not Pong but his 17 year old son, identified only as Mhoo. Officers later tracked Mhoo to a house in Soi Rung Rueng, Rangsit sub-district, and arrested him while he was preparing to flee. A .38 calibre pen gun was seized from the suspect as evidence.
During questioning, Mhoo confessed to the shooting. He told police that he had repeatedly heard from his father that Paisarn was involved in an affair with his mother. He said the accusations led to frequent arguments between his parents, which caused him significant emotional distress.
Mhoo claimed he became enraged after learning that Paisarn denied the allegations and allegedly argued with his father using vulgar language.

Pong, the suspect’s father, also gave a statement to police, claiming that his wife had engaged in a sexual relationship with another man and that the encounter was filmed.
Although the video did not clearly show the lover’s face, Pong said he believed the voice in the footage belonged to Paisarn. He further claimed that the man in the video had a mole on his arm, which prompted him to confront Paisarn and demand to inspect his arms. Paisarn reportedly refused, reinforcing Pong’s suspicions.
The young suspect remains in police custody under juvenile procedures while investigators continue to gather evidence and statements. Police said legal charges and appropriate proceedings under Thailand’s juvenile justice system are still being considered.
