Thai cyber police bust gambling ring fronting as farm firm

The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has detained six Thai individuals accused of establishing a fictitious agricultural trading company as a front for a significant gambling ring website, which had over 3.2 billion baht in circulation.
During operations in Bangkok and Songkhla, five men and one woman were apprehended in connection with the operation, according to CCIB Chief, Police Lieutenant General Trairong Phiewphan.
It is alleged that the suspects set up mule accounts and created the fake agricultural trading company, which served as a facade for the gambling ring and website. The site was reportedly managed by three foreign nationals, generating considerable financial activity.
Investigators discovered that funds from the gambling activities were being diverted to the company. Upon visiting the supposed company headquarters, officers found only a room in a row house. The six individuals were recorded as executives of this fraudulent enterprise, as detailed by Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong at a briefing in Khon Kaen yesterday, April 19.
The gambling funds were funnelled into mule accounts before being transferred to the company and subsequently to the operators, identified as two Chinese and one Indonesian national, explained Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong.
The CCIB has reached out to Interpol to assist in apprehending the three foreign suspects. Furthermore, the investigation revealed that over 20 Thais and six additional foreigners, including five Malaysians and one Cambodian, were associated with the website. Arrest warrants have been issued for these individuals, reported Bangkok Post.

This action follows allegations linking the 32 year old content creator to a large online gambling operation.
