Khao Kheow Open Zoo recently announced a new addition to its family, a female pygmy hippopotamus born to parents Jona and Tony. The zoo is inviting the public to vote on the baby hippo’s name, with options including Moo Deng, Moo Daeng, and Moo Sub.

On July 25, the zoo introduced a new member, born to 25 year old Jona and 24 year old Tony. The baby hippo is in good health but has yet to be named. In light of the upcoming National Mother’s Day celebration, the zoo has launched a naming contest for the baby hippo and is encouraging visitors and the general public to participate.

Participants can cast their votes via an online form from today until August 12. The zoo has sweetened the deal by offering prizes: 10 winners will receive Kapiplara pants, and three will get a special edition Kapiplara doll commemorating the zoo’s 46th anniversary.

The voting will close at 4.30pm on August 12, and the zoo will randomly select winners from those who voted for the most popular name. The official announcement of the winners will be made on August 20 through the zoo’s Facebook page.
