Man stabs girlfriend in front of young son, cites affair and jealousy
A jealous Thai man stabbed his girlfriend in the neck in front of her two year old son at a condominium in Samut Prakan province, just outside Bangkok. The child was later rescued unharmed.
Officers from Samrong Nuea Police Station investigated the condominium in the Thepharak district just after midnight yesterday, November 17, following a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found the injured woman, 23 year old Kaew, outside the building.
Kaew urged police to rescue her son first, as he was still in the room with her boyfriend, 31 year old Run, who stabbed her. Officers rushed to the couple’s room and safely rescued the child. Run was arrested and taken to the police station.
Rescuers from the Por Teck Tung Foundation were called to provide first aid to Kaew before transporting her to the hospital. Fortunately, her wounds were not deep and did not affect any vital organs.
Kaew told police that the incident stemmed from an argument caused by Run’s jealousy. She admitted striking him with an iron bar but said it did not cause him any serious injuries.

Run, enraged, allegedly pulled a knife from his bag and stabbed her in the neck, in view of her son. She ran out of the room for safety, but did not manage to take the boy with her.
Kaew claimed that Run frequently became violent after using cannabis. He had just consumed marijuana with his friends before returning home. She added that although they argued often, this was the most serious incident she had experienced.
During interrogation, Run said he had been in a relationship with Kaew for seven months and that they often argued because he believed Kaew was secretly seeing another man she had met on Facebook.

He claimed he confronted her with what he believed was proof of an affair, which escalated into a fight. After allegedly being struck multiple times with the iron bar, Run said he retaliated by stabbing her three times, though only two strikes made contact.
Run admitted he was wrong to attack Kaew in front of her child. Police are proceeding with legal action against him, although details of the charges have not yet been made public.
