A jealous Thai man allegedly issued death threats to a client of his mistress at a massage shop in the eastern province of Trat, mistaking the client for his mistress’ lover.

A 47 year old woman named Meow yesterday, May 7, sought assistance from Mueang Trat Police Station officers after her lover, 62 year old Komin, threatened to kill her and one of her clients at the massage shop in Soi Chai Mongkhon 3 in Trat.

Officers arrived at the scene at about 11.45pm and met Meow. Her lover, Kimin, and the client had already left. Meow said the incident occurred at her home which also operated as a massage shop.

According to Meow, a regular customer came for a massage on the day of the incident. He came at night because he worked during the day.

At the end of the service, the man asked to stay overnight because he was tired and ill. Meow said she often allowed him to sleep in the shop for 100 baht per hour.

Komin arrived that night but Meow refused to let him in, fearing he would disturb the customer. This angered Komin, so he climbed over the fence and tried to enter the home.

Death threats

Komin eventually agreed to leave the accommodation but threatened both Meow and her client before leaving. Komin reportedly told Meow that he would shoot them both, prompting Meow to contact the police.

Meow admitted to being Komin’s mistress but added that she was unaware he was married with children. They were in a relationship for over four years and Komin repeatedly made death threats against her.

Officers questioned Komin over the phone and later summoned him to the police station. Komin denied making death threats to anyone. He said it was normal for a man to feel jealous when another man comes to sleep in a lover’s home.

Komin demanded an end to the relationship and the return of the 40,000 baht he had previously loaned Meow. Meow refused to end the relationship with her client but promised to pay back the money after settling other debts.

Police acted as a mediator to help the couple resolve the matter and did not press charges against either party.
