Father dies from methanol-laced alcohol, daughter seeks justice
A tragic incident involving methanol-laced herbal alcohol resulted in the death of a father in the Khlong Sam Wa area of Bangkok, with his daughter now seeking justice. Three people have already died, and the number of affected individuals has risen to 31.
The daughter of the deceased has taken to social media to demand accountability. She posted a heartfelt message outlining her father’s death from the contaminated alcohol and expressing her determination to ensure he did not die in vain. The post included a receipt for medical expenses, revealing the financial strain the family endured, having to borrow money for the funeral.
She wrote that anyone knows how to contact journalists? Please recommend them to me. I am willing to go to any news outlet. I will not let my father die for nothing. #ContactMeOrCall0634893821 #PleaseShare.
She also shared the receipt for her father’s medical treatment, highlighting the lack of responsibility taken by the hospital or any relevant government departments. The daughter expressed her frustration that no one had reached out to offer condolences or take responsibility for her father’s death. She and her siblings had to navigate the situation on their own, with the help of her father’s friends.
“I am posting everything because I want to see if anyone will take responsibility for my father’s death. Since he was in the hospital, no one has come forward to take personal responsibility or even to apologise.
“We’ve had to handle everything ourselves, and my father’s friends have been helping us. Look at the receipt for the payment. If my father didn’t have social security, where would we get the money from? We have almost no relatives to turn to.”
The daughter also mentioned that she and her siblings, having only recently reached adulthood, faced the daunting task of organising their father’s funeral for the first time without any prior experience. They had to borrow money to cover the funeral expenses.
This is the first time in our lives dealing with something like this. We’ve done everything we can. I want my father to receive justice, and now my two siblings and I have to borrow money to arrange the funeral as she wrote, reported Khaosod.
