A Burmese couple intervened in an argument with another Burmese couple, resulting in the murder of a woman on Wednesday at an apartment in the Bang Bir district of Samut Prakan province. A Burmese woman was killed while her boyfriend was seriously injured in the incident.

Khlong Dan Police Station officers investigated the scene of the crime in Soi Rojanakun 3 on the night of July 24 after a report of a stabbing. Officers discovered the Burmese woman, Mi Mi Ae, lying in the middle of the road outside the apartment.

Mi Mi Ae sustained multiple stab wounds to her back and chest. Rescuers performed CPR but could not save her life. Her boyfriend, Sein Pan, suffered severe injuries. He was rushed to a hospital but his condition has not yet been updated.

The couple’s neighbour, Win, told police that the culprits were a 29 year old Burmese man named Ya Sa Kung and a 27 year old Burmese man named Ye Yin. Ya Sa Kung engaged in a heated argument with his wife due to his intoxication which caused a loud disturbance.

Sein Pan urged them to lower their voices. Ya Sa Kung and another male friend became angry at his intervention and attacked Sein Pan. Mi Mi Ae came to help her boyfriend, leading the two attackers to repeatedly stab her.

Following information from witnesses, the two culprits escaped to a nearby alley. Police and a rescue team searched for 30 minutes but could not find the suspects. They ended the operation and later reviewed security camera footage to track them down.

Police successfully arrested the suspects yesterday, July 25, when they exited a taxi in the Tha Kham district of Bangkok.

The two suspects claimed that the deceased woman had attacked Ye Yin with scissors, so they grabbed the scissors from her and used them to repeatedly stab her to death.

They added that Mi Mi Ae and Sein Pan were the caretakers of the apartment and they had previously argued over unpaid electricity and water bills.
