Bangkok airports offer free parking for new year travellers

Bangkok is preparing for the upcoming new year holiday with special travel measures to facilitate passenger movement. Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Wattanachan shared that Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports are set to provide free parking and continuous shuttle services. This initiative runs from today until January 1 to ease holiday travel.

At Don Mueang Airport, free parking is offered at the lot between Cargo Building 2 and the five-story car park, catering to 250 vehicles. Shuttle buses are scheduled every 15 minutes, ensuring passengers can conveniently reach Terminal 1, Gate 6.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is also participating by offering free parking in Long-Term Parking Zone C. Shuttle Bus Line A will be available every 15 minutes to assist travellers in reaching their destinations within the airport. In addition, passengers will receive complimentary travel kits and bottled water as part of the service, reported The Pattaya News.

“The government assures citizens that all agencies are fully prepared to guarantee smooth and safe travel during the New Year celebrations,” stated Sasikarn.

In related news, Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok is celebrating Christmas by sending teddy bears along the baggage carousel as gifts for arriving passengers. The gifts are available for two days, starting on December 24, said to run through until the end of December 25.

The Director of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Kittipong Kittikhajorn, and the spokesperson of the Transport Ministry, Kittiphon Ruayfuphan, joined forces to spread festive cheer at the airport by celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with gifts for passengers.

The first batch of fluffy teddy bears travelled along the baggage carousel to greet and surprise passengers arriving from Melbourne, Australia, on Thai Airways flight TG 466 on December 24.

Each teddy bear came dressed in Christmas-themed clothes and was placed in a wooden basket with a sign that read: “Merry Christmas. Take me home (1 person per 1 doll).”
