2 foreigners caught stealing 2 liquor bottles from Koh Phi Phi bar
Two foreign men stole two bottles of liquor from a bar on Koh Phi Phi in Krabi, telling staff that someone said they could take anything in the bar for free as a birthday gift.
CCTV footage of the incident was shared on the Facebook page เจ๊ม้à¸à¸¢ v+ on Saturday, March 14. The page reported that the two men, whose nationalities were not confirmed, stole from the bar twice within 15 minutes.
In the video, the two foreigners, one wearing a white T-shirt and the other a brown T-shirt, approach the counter and look at a menu as if placing an order. The page said they waited for a moment when staff were busy, then took a black bottle of liquor from the counter.
A short time later, the man in the brown T-shirt returned alone. He stood at the counter for a while before taking another bottle of liquor and attempting to hide it in his shorts.
The page reported that staff later noticed the missing items and checked the security cameras, which provided clear evidence. Workers then confronted the two men, who reportedly denied the theft.

One of the men reportedly claimed that it was his birthday and that someone in a bar had told him he could have anything for free as a birthday present. The two men also reportedly said they had never stolen in their lives.
The bar did not tell the page whether the owner took legal action. Online users urged the bar owner not to let the suspects leave and to pursue the matter.
In the comments, other users shared experiences of theft by foreign visitors. One Thai man said he had seen foreigners take snacks from a convenience store, eat them, and leave without paying.

Based on the bar interior seen in the video, the place could be the same venue involved in a previous incident last year, when a group of foreigners tried to steal a tip box.
In that earlier case, foreign tourists sitting at the counter were seen taking the tip box and trying to conceal it before being caught. The suspects returned the tip box, and the owner did not proceed with legal action.
