Cold air from China brings cool weather and rain to Thailand

A cold air mass from China is affecting the north, northeast, central regions, the east, and Bangkok, causing a temperature drop of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected in some areas, according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecast for the next 24 hours.

A new wave of moderate high-pressure or cold air mass from China is covering northern and northeastern Thailand, as well as the South China Sea, leading to a temperature drop of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the northeast with strong winds.

In the north, central, Bangkok, and its vicinity, as well as the east, temperatures will decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Easterly and southeasterly winds are prevailing over the east, lower central, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the upper south, causing isolated rainfall.

In Bangkok and its vicinity, mostly cloudy skies are expected with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 22 to 24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The north will experience cool to cold weather with morning fog. Temperatures in this region will range from a minimum of 13 to 21 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 31 to 35 degrees Celsius. Mountain peaks will be cold to very cold, with the lowest temperatures between 5 and 13 degrees Celsius.

The northeast will have cool to cold weather with strong winds and a slight further drop in temperature. The region will see minimum temperatures of 11 to 18 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees Celsius. Mountain peaks will be chilly, with the lowest temperatures between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius.

In the central region, cool mornings with strong winds are expected, with temperatures slightly decreasing. Minimum temperatures will be 19 to 22 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures will be 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The east will also experience cool mornings and strong winds, with minimum temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 31 to 34 degrees Celsius. The sea will have waves about 1 metre high, and offshore waves will be higher than 1 metre.

The eastern coast of the south will have cool mornings with scattered thunderstorms affecting 10% of areas, particularly in Chumphon, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 21 to 24 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.

From Surat Thani upwards, the sea will have waves about 1 metre high, with 1 to 2 metre waves in thundery areas. From Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards, the sea will see waves of 1 to 2 metres, rising to over 2 metres in stormy areas, reported KhaoSod.

The western coast of the south will have cool mornings, with minimum temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius. The sea will have waves about 1 metre high, with offshore waves exceeding 1 metre.
