A woman reportedly fell victim to a robbery involving her car, cash, and mobile phone in a deserted area before the suspect fled on a motorcycle. The police are investigating the case but remain sceptical about its authenticity.

Around 1.36am today, September 27, Prakasit Paladech, an investigator from Huay Yai Police Station in Chon Buri, received a report of a robbery. The incident occurred on the outer road of Chaknok Reservoir, Moo 4, Huay Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri. At the location, they encountered the victim, a 43 year old woman identified as A (a pseudonym). She sought help from locals and was visibly shaken. She recounted the incident to the officers, explaining that she had been riding with the suspect, a man estimated to be around 35 to 40 years old and of tall and large build.

The suspect deceived her by promising to take her on an outing. They were riding her own Honda Wave motorcycle, with the registration number 2กถ 717 from Korat, and had departed from Pattaya Beach.

As they approached a secluded area, she grew suspicious and seized an opportunity to jump off the bike when it slowed down. The suspect then brandished a knife and threatened her before snatching her shoulder bag.

The bag contained approximately 1,000 baht (US$30) in cash, a mobile phone, her ID card, and ATM cards. The suspect then sped away on the motorcycle through the deserted path. After the incident, she flagged down a local for assistance, who then contacted the police.

Despite the initial report, the police expressed doubts. The victim has not come forward to provide a detailed statement, leading them to question the veracity of the incident, reported KhaoSod.
