In the Lahan Sai district of Buriram, a 13 year old student has reported to the police that a group of her schoolmates physically assaulted her for approximately one hour.
The Grade 7 student, accompanied by her parents, approached the Lahan Sai Police Station yesterday, February 11, after being attacked by at least 10 classmates from both Grade 7 and Grade 9 on February 10.
According to her account, the incident started around 9am when a classmate instructed her to return to her classroom. Upon taking her seat, she was reportedly slapped and forcibly removed from the school, leading to a series of assaults.
She explained that she was dragged to a toilet in another building, where the assault continued for an hour. During this time, she was slapped, her head was stamped on, and subsequently, her head was smashed against a toilet bowl.
The student stated that the attack was allegedly motivated by accusations from a classmate that she had spoken negatively about someone.
Her mother, known only as Hathairat, revealed that her daughter lives with her maternal grandparents as she and her husband work in different towns. She became aware of the incident through a video sent to her by someone, reported Bangkok Post.
Hathairat decided to involve the police after the video circulated online. She expressed concern over how such an attack could occur at the school and noted that her daughter is now fearful of returning.
