Thai police apprehended a drug dealer in Nakhon Pathom province, recovering 43 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine, 2,000 methamphetamine pills, and over 800 e-cigarettes.

Officials suspect connections to a car pawn gang and plan to coordinate with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board for asset seizure.

Investigations by Metropolitan Investigation Team 8 led to the arrest of 38 year old Gawee, also known as Ton, yesterday, March 16 at 5pm. Initial inquiries traced back to small-time dealers in Bangkok, exposing a larger network distributing drugs in Bangkok and its vicinity.

The network, operating under the guise of a car repair shop, was based in the Maha Sawat subdistrict of Phutthamonthon district. Gawee, managing the operations, used a gold Nissan vehicle for drug distribution.

Police surveillance revealed suspicious activity by Gawee at Maha Sawat 14 alley. Upon confronting him, officers found ketamine and car keys believed to be linked to drug storage vehicles. Gawee admitted collecting drugs from Na Mai subdistrict in Lat Lum Kaeo district, Pathum Thani province. The drugs were hidden in a white Nissan Almera parked at his workplace.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 43 bags of crystal methamphetamine, 610 grammes of ketamine, 2,000 methamphetamine pills, and 1,000 ecstasy pills.

Further searches at Gawee’s residence revealed 457 e-cigarettes, 334 e-cigarette liquids, and 54 e-cigarette accessories. The car repair shop yielded an additional 389 e-cigarettes and 489 e-cigarette liquids.

The investigation uncovered a façade involving pawn and repair operations for cars, motorcycles, and boats. This led to the seizure of 10 cars, 20 motorcycles, and six jet skis, reported KhaoSod.

Police are extending their probe into potential ties with a stolen vehicle pawn gang and money laundering activities.

Initial charges include unlicensed distribution of methamphetamine and ketamine, and customs law violations. Gawee and the seized items were handed over to Phutthamonthon district police for further legal action.
