A man impersonating a commando officer was arrested after his girlfriend, who believed he was a real police officer, was left stunned by the revelation.

Police arrested 26 year old Natthaphak, yesterday outside a rented room on Number One-Ram 2 Road, Dokmai, Prawet District, Bangkok.

The arrest was carried out by Police Lieutenant Colonel, Wisit Sriyaphai, Deputy Superintendent of Anti-Terrorism, and Police Sub-Lieutenant Rattasart Klinsoonthorn, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Pak Kret Police Station, following a warrant from the Nonthaburi Provincial Court.

Natthaphak faces charges of unlawfully wearing a police uniform and rank insignia, and forging and using fake government documents.

Police had earlier received information that someone was impersonating a commando officer from the Anti-Terrorism Division, showcasing firearms skills, and posting photos in police uniform on social media. After verifying the reports, the officers moved in to make the arrest.

Seized during the arrest were a set of camouflage training uniforms with insignia, a T-shirt with the commando emblem, a commando emblem lanyard, an airsoft gun with a holster, and a bullet-proof vest adorned with the Anti-Terrorism Division’s insignia.

Witnesses reported that Natthaphak’s girlfriend was shocked during the arrest, as she had believed him to be a genuine commando officer. Natthaphak had been using his fake rank and position for various transactions, leading his girlfriend to think he was a legitimate police officer throughout their relationship.

Following the arrest, Natthaphak and the confiscated items were taken to Pak Kret Police Station, Nonthaburi Province, for further legal proceedings and to investigate whether he had deceived others, reported KhaoSod.

Interestingly, Natthaphak had previously starred in a movie as a young Buakaw Banchamek, a famous Muay Thai fighter, in the drama Fighting Spirit, Reaching for the Dream: Buakaw, adding a surprising twist to his background.

In related news, a man claiming to be a police officer caused a scene after parking his car in the middle of the road in Songkhla Province, boasting about his rank and causing a disturbance in a snooker hall. The incident led to a formal complaint against him.
