Beaches? Check. Lush jungles? Check. Retail therapy? Also, check! Phuket has everything, and that includes shopping malls. One of the most iconic, and one you might already know, is Jungceylon Patong.

First opened in 2007, Jungceylon Patong shouldn’t need an introduction. It has long been a staple in Phuket’s shopping scene due to its all-in-one experience. Recently refreshed with an entirely new look, the mall now houses over 300 shops across four zones, including The Jungle, The Bay, The Garden, and The Botanica.

In addition to fashion, childrenswear, sportswear, and tech, this beloved mall also has rows and rows of restaurants, playgrounds, and a cinema. Simply put, Jungceylon Patong can be overwhelming for first-timers, so here are some tips on how to make the most of your visit.

What to expect at Jungceylon Shopping Mall

In true island style, Jungceylon Patong has a tropical resort design that blends well with the island’s beauty. Although it’s the largest shopping mall in Phuket, sprawling across 200,000 square metres, it’s a pleasure to explore thanks to the effectively organised zones.

The first zone is The Jungle. As its name suggests, it’s full of lush greenery and calming water features, so you can enjoy a serene environment while you browse through its shops. Here, you’ll find the lifestyle-fashion street with boutiques selling street fashion, sporty gear, and accessories. Plus, there are two food spots at The Jungle, including the ‘Love Eat’ zone and the ‘Food Bazaar.’

The centre of the four zones is The Bay, which is a nod to Phuket’s maritime heritage. With a huge 20-metre Chinese Junk Boat as its centrepiece, it’s where you’ll find live performances, cultural shows, and exhibitions.

The Botanica makes the most of Phuket’s tropical sun, designed as a glasshouse full of colourful sculptures. All the popular Thai and international designer brands, such as Gentlewoman and Coach, as well as IT stores like Banana IT and Samsung, are here. It’s home to entertainment venues, too, including Kidzooona, Froggy’s Fun Park, Power Drive Elite Kart Park, and the SF Cinema.

The last zone, The Garden, features Sino-Portuguese shophouses. It’s the best destination if you’re looking for great dining options. You can find fancy brunch spots, cute cafes to spend some time with friends, and high-end restaurants for celebratory dinners. By evening, it comes alive with groups of people drinking and dancing at bars and lounges that line the zone.

Shopping options at Jungceylon Patong

Jungceylon Patong’s new identity as ‘The Oasis of Shopping’ is perfectly fitting. It truly is a shopper’s dream. Buy a special gift for your loved one at Swarovski, upgrade your phone to the latest Samsung, and get a new bikini for your next beach day at Quicksilver – you can do it all here.

This Phuket shopping mall houses a range of high-street fashion brands, including Uniqlo, American Eagle, and Levi’s, with a few more mid-range and high-end ones thrown in, like Charles & Keith, Hugo Boss, Guess, and Coach.

Of course, you’ll find loads of local brands at Jungceylon Patong. Homegrown Thai brands like Gentlewomen and CPS Chaps lead the fashion game in The Botanica, while AIIZ and NaRaYa dominate The Jungle. Sportswear is also popular, with stores like Puma, Adidas, Skechers, and Under Armour.

The mall is also a great place to hunt for the perfect souvenir (or something to treat yourself). Mr. Elephant, Thai Silk, and The Maple Gallery are great shops for one-of-a-kind pieces. Siam Pork and Khunmaeju, on the other hand, are the spots to check out if you’re looking for authentic Thai food to bring home.

Multi-brand department store Robinson and Thailand’s favourite Big C Extra are tucked amid the many outlets. Therefore, you can also visit Jungceylon Patong to get beauty products, groceries, or a quick snack.

Entertainment and activities

When you need a break from the hot Phuket sun, Jungceylon Phuket boasts tons of entertainment options. You can pop in for a massage and pamper yourself at one of the spas, such as Lalisa Massage, Primnara Massage, and Chantara Massage.

It’s even possible to get a lip filler, and CoolSculpting since Essence of Youth Clinic is conveniently located inside the mall for those looking for a little extra glow. Afterwards, catch the latest movie at the SF Cinema. If you want to get into Thai movies, the cinema provides English subtitles.

Are you coming with the whole family? The little ones will love Kidzooona, an indoor playpark with a variety of hands-on and role-playing activities, including slides and a bouncy house. For the older kids (and mum and dad, too), Froggy’s Fun Park is the place to be. As the largest indoor amusement park in Phuket, it features trampolines, a rope park, VR games, and over 100 entertainments for all ages.

Dining experiences

In terms of dining experiences, you’ll be well looked after here. Although the bulk of restaurants and eateries are located in The Jungle and The Garden, you’ll find a range of food outlets sprinkled throughout the Phuket shopping mall.

It’s hard to choose from the many dining options available. The ‘Love Eat’ zone and the ‘Food Bazaar’ are far from your typical food courts as both offer top-notch meals for a wide range of tastes. In addition to these, there are also plenty of other restaurants to explore.

The usual suspects of mall snacks, such as Auntie Anne’s, BOOST Juice Bars, Dairy Queen, and Häagen-Dazs, are all ready to satisfy your cravings. McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, and Taco Bell all have outposts at the mall as well.

For some local tastes, Le Siam has authentic Thai food, while Thai Food Factory offers modern takes on Thai street cuisine. If you’re craving Asian food, there is Din Tai Fung with its famous xialongbao, Shabu Shi for Japanese-style hot pot, and Okuna Sushi, where you’ll find fresh sushi and sashimi.

When you crave Western flavours, Churrasco Phuket Steakhouse is known for their premium cuts and Roxane Café & Restaurant provides familiar favourites like the classic American breakfast and burgers. Need a quick caffeine fix? There are plenty to choose from, such as Café Amazon, CPS Coffee, Starbucks, and Dunkin’, among others.

And for those with a sweet tooth, you’ll be spoilt for choice with options like La Lune Macaron & Pastries boasting a colourful selection of macarons, Lavanille serving creamy handmade ice creams, Sweet Mango for mango sticky rice, and Swensen’s for ice cream sundaes.

After sunset, The Irish Times Pub and Wine Connection are popular spots where people gather to catch up with friends over drinks.
