If you’ve ever heard the advice “never get a haircut from a bald barber” you know that even something completely natural can tarnish the image of a brand in people’s minds. So, much like being judged for being an overweight fitness instructor, it’s a bit awkward for Albert Bourla that people now know he’s been infected by Covid-19, considering he is the CEO of Pfizer.

Full vaccination does not ensure you will avoid infection but it can be essential in lessening the effects and severity of the infection as well as the risk of death. CEO Bourla has received both vaccines as well as a first and even a second booster shot, all of the vaccines produced by his company Pfizer in association with BioNTech SE.

While the Pfizer CEO reports that he is feeling fine and his symptoms are very mild, the leader of one of the top vaccines against Covid coming down with a coronavirus infection is sure to elicit a flurry of online responses and opinions.

Bourla posted a short statement on his Twitter account confirming that he tested positive and is feeling ok and expressed confidence that he would make a full recovery from Covid quickly. He explained that he is now in self-isolation and is following all of the standard recommended public health precautions.

As one would expect, the care and medication the CEO of Pfizer is receiving to aid in his recovery includes Paxlovid, an antiviral pill regimen developed by his own company.
