CCSA to consider more suggestions on lifting Covid restrictions

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Friday will consider more suggestions in regards to lifting Covid restrictions, with PM Prayut Chan-o-cha insisting that public safety is still a priority. Adjusting the colour-coded Covid concept and relaxing the rules for nightclubs will be among the recommendations discussed.

The CCSA is open to any new ideas and recommendations from different parties regarding improvements to the existing Covid regulations.

Prior to being submitted to the CCSA’s main committee, any recommended changes will be debated by the CCSA’s operations centre, according to National Security Council secretary-general, Supoj Malaniyom.

When it comes to reopening nightclubs, any problems in the existing reopening arrangement must be solved before any requests will be accepted in broadening reopening in more provinces.

The government considers face mask wearing a critical tool for achieving stability in its attempts to revive the Thai economy, so any additional relaxation of restrictions will have to be thoroughly reviewed.

The Ministry of Public Health has a detailed plan and timeframe for when and how to execute the removal of face mask requirements and the labelling of coronavirus as an epidemic outbreak.

The ministry is creating new instructions for all medical facilities to follow when Thailand enters a new Covid phrase in July. The instructions will be critical for providing swift public access to healthcare when there is a Covid infection case.
