A former girlfriend gatecrashed her ex-boyfriend’s wedding in China after discovering that the bride’s dowry was significantly more than what she had requested during their relationship. The couple had been together for seven years, but differing views on dowry expectations led to their eventual breakup.

According to local media reports, the woman had previously been in a seven-year relationship with a man and they had agreed to get married. The couple had discussed a dowry amount of 180,000 yuan (900,000 baht). However, the woman’s mother later requested an increased dowry of 268,000 yuan (1.35 million baht).

When the man heard about this, he was extremely discontented and refused outright, reasoning that he did not have the financial means to amass such a large sum of money. Ultimately, the disagreement led to the couple’s breakup, reported KhaoSod.

Notably, a month after their breakup, the woman learned that her ex-boyfriend was getting married. Curious about his new partner, she attended the wedding. Although she initially witnessed the couple’s happiness, she was left speechless when she discovered the bride’s dowry was 280,000 yuan (1.41 million baht).
