Terrifying blaze levels home in Sattahip, no injuries

Chaos erupted in Ban Tao Than, Sattahip in the early hours of yesterday as a raging fire engulfed a two-storey wooden house, sending residents fleeing for their lives. The inferno broke out at 4.30am, yesterday, September 18, consuming the home in a matter of minutes and triggering a swift response from emergency services.

Firefighters from the Sattahip Municipal Office and Khet Udomsak subdistrict Municipality raced to the scene with six fire trucks, battling the flames with all their might.

“The combined efforts of both teams were crucial in bringing the fire under control after nearly an hour of intense work,” stated a local fire chief.

Despite their best efforts, the house and all its contents were reduced to ashes.

Miraculously, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.

“Fortunately, everyone was safe,” a spokesperson from emergency services confirmed.

The homeowner, 30 year old Nopparut Narongthamchot, was in the shower when he heard a loud noise from the roof.

“When I checked, I found the fire and immediately evacuated, alerting the fire service,” he recounted, visibly shaken but grateful to have escaped unharmed.

Initial investigations suggest an electrical short circuit as the likely cause of the blaze, reported Pattaya Mail.

“This incident underscores the critical need for vigilance regarding electrical safety, especially in densely populated areas,” a firefighter warned.

In related news, residents narrowly escaped a dramatic house fire, which destroyed the home of a local deputy mayor in Ubon Ratchathani. The blaze, which started in a prayer room, was only discovered after a neighbour alerted the family.

The fire broke out on September 10 within a residence on Somdet 26 Alley, Pathum subdistrict, Mueang district, Ubon Ratchathani province.

In other news, a devastating fire destroyed a home in Phrae province, leaving an elderly, disabled woman injured. Police and local agencies swiftly moved to assist following the incident on July 10. The tragedy unfolded when a fire broke out at a single-story wooden house in Village 6, Taopoon subdistrict, Song district.
