Struggling family with ill father seeks roadside aid in Sattahip

A three month old baby girl from Nakhon Phanom was taken by her mother to seek help for her husband suffering from a facial tumour, which caused blindness in his right eye. The family, living by the roadside, found themselves in dire straits with the father’s pain intensifying, prompting an emergency call to rescue services around 12.30am today.

Sa-wang Rojanathammasathan Rescue Radio Center in Chon Buri received a distress signal about a patient with a facial tumour experiencing intense headaches. He was found on the Sukhumvit roadside near the traffic light intersection, kilometre 1, Sattahip, Sattahip district. Rescue officials promptly dispatched an ambulance to investigate. reported KhaoSod.

Upon arrival, they found Weeraphon Jampa, a 36 year old native of Nakhon Phanom, with his face swollen due to the tumour. He was in excruciating pain and needed immediate hospital attention. His 36 year old partner, Thanya Anuhapong, was seen holding their three month old son, waiting for help on the roadside, a sight that evoked sympathy. The rescue team quickly aided the family and transported them to Sattahip Hospital, kilometre 10.

Thanya recounted that she and her partner, jobless, had travelled from Rangsit intending to find work in Sattahip to pay for her partner’s treatment. Initially, they planned to go to Plutaluang to seek medical attention at the Sirikit Medical Department, Navy. But as their van couldn’t reach their desired destination and they were left with no money, they had to settle beside the road with their infant son and ailing husband.

Later, her husband started experiencing headaches due to the facial tumour, causing blindness in his right eye. She requested that nearby locals to call the rescue team to aid and transport her husband to the hospital.

Previously, her husband worked as an car painter before falling ill and losing his job. She pleaded with relevant government departments to assist her husband. At present, they didn’t even have a single baht for buying milk for their child.
