Temperature plummets to 11 degrees in Huai Nam Dang National Park

Huai Nam Dang National Park in Mae Hong Son Province is experiencing a rapid drop in temperature, reaching as low as 11 degrees Celsius. The park’s head anticipates the temperature may soon dip into single digits, possibly leading to frost.

Buncha Ramsiri, the head of Huai Nam Dang National Park, disclosed that the lowest temperature recorded this morning was 11 degrees Celsius, a significant drop from the previous 16 degrees. The sudden chill has been a welcome surprise for tourists, and within the next week, it is expected that the temperature may drop below 10 degrees. If the temperature continues to fall, frost is a definite likelihood, reported KhaoSod.

Currently, Huai Nam Dang National Park has seen an influx of 758 visitors, 594 of whom are Thai and 164 are foreigners. Of these, 149 individuals have chosen to stay overnight. The park recorded a total of 306 vehicles, with 118 motorcycles and 188 cars.

Tourists travelling to Mae Hong Son province primarily use motorcycles, large bikes, and vans. The most popular route is a circular one starting from Chiang Mai, through Hod, Mae Sariang, Mae La Noi, Khun Yuam, Muang Mae Hong Son, to Pang Mapha, Pai, Mae Taeng, and then back to Chiang Mai.

The itinerary typically includes visits to Sop Moei and Mae Sariang before reaching Thung Bua Tong, Doi Mae U-Kho in Khun Yuam district, and then heading north to Muang Mae Hong Son, Pang Mapha, Pai, and Huai Nam Dang. This route and the subsequent spending in these areas greatly contribute to the local tourism economy of Mae Hong Son, aiding in its recovery.

In related news, a massive cold front has descended upon Northern Thailand, causing thunderstorms and strong winds, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.
