Residents of a town were startled by a video featuring a mysteriously swaying utility pole, prompting a flurry of online comments. Officials, upon viewing the clip, remain perplexed, speculating that wind may have caused the pole to move.

The incident occurred on February 3 when a Facebook user, Supot Milla, shared a video depicting an electricity pole shaking from its base to its tip, resembling a dancing pole. This odd phenomenon intrigued onlookers, leading to widespread online discussions with theories ranging from supernatural causes to natural occurrences like earthquakes or water pressure.

Supot revealed that the footage was taken during the evening at the Huai Phu Nok water plant in Tha Pla district, Uttaradit province, while capturing the sunset. The captivating sight of the swaying pole led him to post the video on Facebook, sparking curiosity and debate among viewers.

Upon visiting the site, it was found that the pole in question stands among several solar-powered streetlights at the entrance of the water plant, which is not only a water supply source but also a picturesque location. However, by the time of the visit, the pole was no longer swaying or exhibiting any unusual movement.

Officials at the water plant were unaware of the incident until they saw the video, which puzzled them as no earthquake had occurred at the time of filming. The local Tha Pla subdistrict municipality, which oversees the area, acknowledged the video and initially suggested that the pole might have swayed due to strong winds, given its height of 8 metres, reported KhaoSod.

Despite this explanation, the fact that only one pole was affected remains a mystery, prompting officials to conduct further investigations to uncover the truth.
