Kids in Thailand can go to six zoos for free on Children’s Day

Lucky kids in Thailand can gain access to six zoos for free on Children’s Day tomorrow. Free entrance is limited to children whose height does not exceed 135 centimetres, according to the Zoological Park Organisation

The six zoos are: Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Chiang Mai Zoo, Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, Songkhla Zoo, Ubon Ratchathani Zoo, and Khon Kaen Zoo.

The Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand said the goal of free entry is to “create happiness” and raise children’s awareness about animals, Nation Thailand reported.

Several activities are being planned for kids in Thailand on Children’s Day.

Thailand’s prime minister is inviting children to the Government House for entertainment, sports, and educational activities. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over the event and will personally welcome the kids.

According to Thai PBS World, the prime minister’s deputy secretary-general for political affairs says Prayut will give a guided tour of his office while allowing the kids to take turns sitting in his chair.

The activities will promote “Thainess,” patriotism and the potential of kids. A robot competition, games, micro cars and other green activities under the Bio-Cirular-Green Economy (BCG) concept will be featured. Children can also bring their empty water bottles or cans to exchange for souvenirs at the event.

Meanwhile, children can also spend a day of fun at 15 prisons in Thailand on Children’s Day, Thai Rath reported. Children can play games such as musical chairs, go horseback riding through fields, and feed animals at some prisons. Inmates will join in the activities and the project aims to give them an opportunity to benefit society. There will be free food and drinks.

The prisons include: Khao Mai Kaew Temporary Prison. (Rayong Province), Huai Pong Khao Bin Temporary Prison (Ratchaburi Province), Khao Rakam Temporary Prison (Trat Province), Khao Phrik Agricultural Industrial Prison, and Khao Bang Rin Temporary Prison (Ranong Province). Khao Kling Temporary Prison (Phetchaburi Province), Khao Phlong Temporary Prison (Chainat Province), Songkhla Special Correctional Institution, Nakhon Phanom Central Prison, The correctional institution opens, Thung Bencha Khoktaban Temporary Prison (Surin Province), Khlong Pho Temporary Prison (Nakhon Sawan Province), and Bang Kwang Central Prison.
