A foreigner drove his SUV at high speed and collided with a six-wheel truck and a motorcycle in the eastern province of Rayong. The foreign driver was killed, while the two Thai nationals involved sustained injuries.
Dashcam footage from the six-wheel truck, which was shared on a news Facebook page, showed the black Ford Everest SUV travelling at high speed before losing control on a bend and crashing into the lorry.
The accident occurred at 11.20am yesterday, April 8, on Wang Tapin–Saphan Si Road in the Pluak Daeng district of Rayong. Officers from Pluak Daeng Police Station, who are responsible for the area, investigated the scene.
According to the police report, the black SUV was wrecked and overturned. The six-wheel lorry was damaged on the right side of its bumper and a front wheel. The third damaged vehicle was a motorcycle, which the SUV swerved into after colliding with the truck.
The SUV driver, identified only as a 56 year old foreign man, died at the scene. He was trapped in the wreckage, and rescuers had to use metal-cutting tools to retrieve his body.

Two Thai nationals, a 24 year old man and a 20 year old woman who were riding the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries. The lorry driver, 49 year old Amnuay, fortunately escaped the accident unharmed.
Amnuay gave his account of the incident, which was corroborated by his dashcam footage. He stated that the foreign SUV driver lost control at the bend and struck his vehicle.

A Thai motorist who witnessed the incident reported that the foreign man had been racing with a friend. Both were riding motorcycles at high speed, which led to the crash. An update on the injured foreign man’s condition has not yet been released.
