No remorse from foreign couple after car overturned in Phuket

A Phuket local condemned a foreign couple for their ignorance after they continued to enjoy music following a crash in which their car overturned on a road in the Mai Khao sub-district of the province.
A Thai woman, Prapasiri Ravangpai, shared a video and pictures of the foreign couple‘s car accident on Facebook yesterday, April 3. The incident reportedly occurred at around 1pm outside the Super Cheap convenience store in the Mai Khao area of Phuket.
The foreign couple had been travelling in a black MG sedan, which was believed to be a rental vehicle. The victim’s car, a white sedan, was parked at the roadside and suffered serious damage to its right rear wheel.
In her post, Prapasiri explained that the foreign woman, who was visibly drunk, crashed her sedan into the parked car. She displayed no remorse and even posed for a photoshoot with the overturned vehicle.
In the video, the foreign woman was seen dancing around the car and smoking. When the couple realised they were being recorded, they played up to the cameras. The foreign woman also returned to the damaged car to retrieve her sunglasses.

Prapasiri could be heard in the video saying…
“Ahh, wearing sunglasses and dancing. No guilt from her at all.”
She also claimed that the same foreign woman had crashed a motorcycle into a resident’s car on Tuesday, April 1. On that occasion, she reportedly showed no remorse and simply rode away from the scene without taking any responsibility.

No reference was made to the couple’s nationality and it remains unclear whether they will compensate the Thai victim or face any legal consequences for the incident.
Reports of unacceptable behaviour by foreign couples previously made headlines. In March, two foreign couples were caught dining and dashing at restaurants in Phuket. One of the couples later returned to pay their bill, which was 467 baht, but still expressed anger at being exposed.

Another foreign couple was accused of fleeing without paying a taxi fare in Phuket. The taxi driver claimed they refused to pay upon arrival at their destination. In a video, he could be heard demanding 100 baht from the foreigners, who ignored him and continued walking away.
