Folk singer Neung Phalanchai doubles as a rescuer: Helps man during gig

Renowned folk singer and rescuer Neung Phalanchai leapt into action during a concert, aiding a man who was being attacked. In addition to his musical career, Neung invested in rescue vehicles and equipment, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Rescue Hook 31 team. This act of bravery occurred today.

Neung, who stepped into the spotlight as the lead folk singer for the group Kham Phun Ruam Mit following the tragic death of lead singer New Mukda in an accident, captured the attention of the public. His dual role as a singer and rescuer has been highlighted through multiple video clips showing his efforts to aid those in distress.

A standout clip features Neung removing part of his folk singer costume and jumping off the performance stage to assist a man being assaulted near the stage. He was equipped with his always-ready rescue bag, even amidst the performance.

Recently, Neung performed in Phutthaisong district, Buriram province, where he revealed his feelings about his past life as a lesser-known folk singer. Before finding success, he worked in Bangkok but returned home to continue his music career when he didn’t achieve the success he desired.

Neung further revealed that he has always had a deep-seated desire to help the community, particularly through volunteer rescue work. After becoming a lead folk singer and saving enough money, he set up a Rescue Hook 31 branch in Roi Et province, affiliated with the Rescue Hook 31 team in Nakhon Ratchasima province. He purchased vehicles and all necessary life-saving equipment to voluntarily assist those in distress or facing troubles.

Neung admits he loves helping the community.

“Every time I travel for a performance, I carry my rescue bag with me. Even my band leader’s son and daughter have bought bags to follow my example. Whenever we see someone in distress, we stop to help, always following the rescue protocol. I confirm that I will continue to do this until my last breath.”

Singer rescuer

The head of the Kham Phun Ruam Mit band, Witthaya Hankam, shared how Neung joined the group. Previously, New Mukda, the band’s regular lead singer, asked if they wanted to add a new artist. The response was positive, and Neung was suggested. Despite being a relatively older folk singer, they agreed to bring him on board.

To their surprise, a rescue vehicle arrived at their home the next day. A young man in full rescue gear introduced himself as Neung Phalanchai. Since then, they got to know each other better and invited him to join the band as a supporting artist for New Mukda.

Following the untimely death of New Mukda in a car accident on September 15, the band had to find a new lead singer. Neung was chosen and has been warmly received by fans, gaining a large following and fan club due to his rescue work and genuine personality.

Neung’s dedication to helping others and his community led to widespread recognition and admiration. His dual career as a folk singer and rescuer makes him a unique figure in the public eye, reported KhaoSod.
