A car fire on Chang Sanit Road in the Mueang district of Ubon Ratchathani, led to the evacuation of a woman in her forties before the flames engulfed the vehicle. Firefighters from the provincial and municipal fire departments responded quickly to control the blaze, suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, in 20 minutes.

The incident occurred yesterday, February 16, when local emergency services received reports of a burning vehicle near a construction material store. On arrival, they found a white Nissan March with registration 8กฬ 8820 from Bangkok consumed by flames at the front and engine compartment.

Firefighters used foam and water to extinguish the fire, which had severely damaged the car.

The woman driving the car declined to provide details about the cause of the fire, suggesting waiting for the vehicle’s owner to comment. A store employee, who witnessed the event, recounted seeing the car pull up in front of the store, hearing the horn sound continuously, and watching someone exit the car as smoke emerged from the engine area.

The employee attempted to use a fire extinguisher from the store but was unsuccessful in controlling the blaze until the fire brigade arrived, reported KhaoSod.

Initial investigations by the fire service indicated the vehicle was not equipped with gas, leading to the hypothesis that an electrical short circuit in the horn area may have caused the continuous horn sound and subsequent fire.
