6 year old Thai boy kidnapped by teenage girl reunited with family

A 15 year old girl kidnapped a six year old boy in the central province of Pathum Thani. The pair were found near the Victory Monument in Bangkok. The motive of the young girl remains under investigation.
The family of the six year old boy, named Kao, took to social media to share his missing poster after he disappeared from Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Pathum Thani at about 1pm on Wednesday, March 19. He was wearing a red Ben 10 T-shirt and red shorts.
Locals in the area reported seeing him walking with a teenage girl. CCTV footage from the scene showed the girl wearing a black Adidas T-shirt with long sweatpants and carrying a tote bag.
A picture of the boy and the girl accompanying him was included in the social media post. Netizens helped spread the post, and one individual provided useful information after spotting the pair outside the Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment yesterday evening.
Channel 7 interviewed Kaoโs 58 year old grandmother, Sopha, who provided further details about his disappearance. Sopha explained that she works as an assistant cook at the church and always brings her grandson to the workplace.

Kao usually plays with other children at the church but on this occasion he was not with the group. The children informed Sopha that Kao had gone to a convenience store with a 15 year old girl called Aui. Sopha had met Aui several times at the church and trusted her, so she did not search for her grandson until 4.30pm.
As Sopha prepared to return home, Kao and Aui had still not returned. She and her colleagues searched for the children until they became desperate and sought assistance from Mueang Pathum Thani Police Station officers.

According to information from the church, Aui had been raised there since she was young. She left the church two months ago and only returned two days before taking Kao away.
Police reviewed additional security camera footage in the area and discovered that the pair took a motorcycle taxi to the entrance of the alley leading to the church, before leaving the spot in a taxi.

Police summoned the taxi driver for questioning and learned that the pair intended to go to a shopping mall in the Bang Kapi area.
The driver asked how much money they had, and they revealed they had only 30 baht, prompting him to drop them off outside the drug abuse treatment institute.
With the help of netizens, a vendor operating a shop at Victory Monument saw Kaoโs picture on social media and recognised him and the girl as they walked through the area. The vendor alerted the police, who arrived in time to detain the pair.
As of now, Aui remains under police questioning regarding the motive behind Kaoโs kidnapping. Kaoโs grandmother picked up her beloved grandson from the police station last night.
