A person was killed and another severely injured in a motorcycle collision today in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao district. The motorcycles collided while driving around a curve. One of the bikes flipped and exploded. Photos show the bike engulfed in flames.

32 year old Thanatthakorn Chareaonsuk was found dead at the scene. 25 year old Kritsada Wanpen was severely injured and broke their leg, according to Nation Thailand.

Police are investigating and will review surveillance camera footage to determine the cause of the incident.

Poor fella. I used to be a big bike rider and all it takes is a split-second (on any vehicle) and if you’re not aware of what’s going on around you….ka boom.

And even worse if it’s not even your fault….

    May he R.I.P.

75% of road dead are bikers, this could be halved IF they had to wear a helmet by law, 2 only on a bike and no looking at mobile phones. Covid is the only save lifes campaign???

I would have agreed with you, but that doesn’t appear to be the case any more judging by “139 killed, 653 injured, as Thailand’s holiday weekend sees surge in road accidents”, which suggests the reverse (car drivers / passengers killed / injured rather than bikers).

… and those are all “law” already in Thailand, however little they’re observed.
