After a number of bike bikes went missing in Samut Sakhon’s Krathum Baen district, just southwest of Bangkok, police arrested 2 people for allegedly stealing the bikes and selling them to buyers at the Thai-Myanmar border.

Police first arrested a man Thai media reports as Nattapol back in September. Police say Nattapol admitted to the charges and tipped police off about his alleged accomplice, a 20 year old man Thai media reports as Wiroj.

Thai media says Wiroj was on the run since Nattapol was arrested. Wiroj was arrested yesterday on theft charges. Police say he was the “mastermind” of the operation and acted as an “agent,” connecting those who stole vehicles with potential buyers.

The men allegedly told police that they would survey the area before deciding which big bikes to steal. Police say the men would sell the bikes to buyers at the Thai-Myanmar border, getting about 10,000 to 15,000 baht for each bike. Altogether, they stole around 15 big bikes, police say.
