Vana Showcase unveils the next wave of specialty beer in Thailand
Locally brewed beer that infuses itself with Thai artistry designed by independent artists
Vana, formerly known as The Brewing Project, has recently hosted the Vana Showcase at the ASAI Bangkok Sathorn, a reception for prospective partners, F&B owners and managers. The event introduced attendees to the next generation of speciality beer in Thailand and celebrates Vana’s recent rebranding, which emphasises its Thai identity and solidifies its position as Thailand’s fastest-growing craft beer brand.
Vana has been at the forefront of Thailand’s craft beer movement, renowned for producing world-class versions of classic international beer styles infused with Thai art and designed to complement Thai cuisine.
This commitment to excellence has resulted in the most highly decorated portfolio of beer from Thailand in professionally-judged international competitions – and ranking Vana as the Thailand Country Champion in the Asian Beer Cup for the last 3 years running.
The story of which Ben Chalach, head brewer for Vana, has reminisced about.
“Our journey began with an obsession to put Thailand on the global craft beer map. We punch well above our weight in the world of cuisine – but when it comes to beer, Thailand is better known as a place to drink it, than a place to make it.
“While brewing classic styles resonated with many, the community’s feedback was clear: they loved the beer and inspired design, but they wanted something newer, more unique and above all, localised.”
Vana’s answer is the Vana Harvest Series, which was unveiled at the Showcase event. This new collection of beers exemplifies Vana’s dedication to its Thai roots, featuring:
- Thai Ingredients: Each beer in the series incorporates unique and flavorful Thai ingredients.
- Local Production: Brewed entirely in Thailand by Thai brewers; and
- Thai Artistry: Designed by independent Thai artists.
The Vana Showcase provided an immersive experience in the Vana rebrand and the Harvest Series. Guests got a sneak preview of Vana’s new vision and direction for the coming high season. They included a “bottomless” tasting guided by Vana’s brewing team through the Classic Series, the Harvest Series and the current offerings from Vana’s Experimental & Collab Series.
