Thailand’s farmers and other citizens who have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 situation will be getting help, as the government has designated a 600 billion baht budget to help Thai people in need.

The urgent budget of 600 billion baht is intended to help employers and freelancers who have been affected by the virus crisis, to support the public health system, and take care of Thailand’s farmers.

“For farmers, we are considering giving the cash directly into their account. However, each farmer will receive money at a different rates.”

Additionally the government will be helping Thai farmers, based on information that the Ministry of Agriculture has provided to the government.

The government assistance to the farmers will cover three aspects…

  • Factors of production.
  • Cost of living.
  • Impact of drought

Initially, some 8 to 9 million farming households are expected to benefit from this transaction.
