Phuket Property: Shivalai shimmers above Kamala

PHUKET: The Shivalai Resort Condominiums and Private Luxury Pool Villas will be a new boutique development perched on a hillside overlooking Kamala and out to the sea. The eight stylish three-storey low rise condominium buildings will have only two units per floor and five luxurious private pool villas when construction is completed in 2014.

The Phuket Gazette spoke to Jakkrit Changsalak, CEO of Wilson Height Property Co. Ltd about the development.

Phuket Gazette: Why did you choose to build your development in Kamala?
Jakkrit Changsalak: Kamala is a quiet beach area that has maintained its natural beauty. The long sandy beach, mountains and forest are still intact. It’s a good place to live. Kamala has the potential to expand

What does the development offer?

Shivalai has 48 units in eight three-storey ocean view condominium buildings and five luxury pool villas. The projects landscaped hillside includes a swimming pool, parking, coffee shop and lobby.

Who is the project aimed at?
The project is aimed at foreign residents and real estate investors. The development has a clear return on investment and low risk. Because the price is relatively low, owners are able to see a return on their investment immediately.

What do you think are the project’s key selling points?
Location is important. Kamala Beach is one of the most expensive areas to buy a home. Shivalai is located on high ground, where every room has a view of the sea and the beautiful beach. The sea view is an important part of the project.

Also, Shivalai is surrounded by hills and forest. The surrounding forest and project itself is a water resource with cold water running all year round. We will help to preserve this forest and this idea is seen with our slogan “living with nature.”

The development has an airy design with a modern style that blends seamlessly with nature. We use materials that focus on energy efficiency.

The company is also looking at how to manage the sales and administration of the building. We provide a professional management team that will help customers rent out their unit.

How do you promote the project as an eco-friendly development?
The project is on a good site on the side of a mountain with the forest in the background. The design is focused on the surrounding greenery. The vertical garden is landscaped to blend in with the natural world. Each room is provided with a private jacuzzi on the balcony so the residents can live close to nature.

In addition, the materials we have used on the walls have an oval mound, which can heat up more than other walls. The room is cool and can save a lot of energy. This technology comes from a study within our own group.

What other developments do you have in Phuket?

Our other projects are still in the design stage located in Kata and Patong. They will be launched at the end of this year.
