Man dies after fainting and falling off bicycle in Phuket
A 60 year old man tragically died early today, falling off his bicycle after fainting en route to Thalang Hospital in Phuket for his regular medication.
Police Captain Kraisorn Boonprasop of Thalang Police was alerted to the incident at approximately 6.50am and promptly arrived at the scene with Pol. Lt. Sin Saijit and an EMS Advance Unit from Thalang Hospital.
Upon their arrival, they found Wisut Aekkachai, a resident of Moo 1, Tambon Thepkrasattri, lying unresponsive by the roadside. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, Wisut was pronounced dead at the scene. He had abrasions under his chin and a non-life-threatening wound on his left knee.
Wisut’s brother, Sanya Ekachai, revealed that Wisut had been battling chronic alcoholism, which frequently caused him to faint. Each morning, Wisut would cycle to Thalang Hospital for his regular injection.
The police, including investigators and doctors from Thalang Hospital, conducted an initial post-mortem examination at the scene. Wisut’s body was subsequently transported to Thalang Hospital, where a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital will perform a more thorough examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, reported The Phuket News.
In related news, human skeletal remains were discovered on a beach in Phuket which triggered a police investigation. The remains, which included a pelvis and upper leg bones, are believed to belong to a male and have been deceased for more than eight weeks.
Found at Laem Dinso, the bones were partially clad in black underwear branded with CK and SPORT. Documents were also located in nearby trousers, potentially aiding in identification.
Royal Thai olice and forensic teams from Vachira Phuket Hospital are examining the site and remains to determine the cause of death and the identity of the deceased. The skeletal remains, are currently under examination to determine the cause of death and establish the deceased’s identity.
