World’s largest private jet, the Flying Palace, drops price to 16 million baht

The world’s largest and most luxurious private jet, the Boeing 747-8, often dubbed the Flying Palace, announced a significant price drop to fly in the globe’s most expensive aeroplane. The gigantic aircraft, unmatched in its size in the private jet sector, is outfitted with all the necessities one could need when travelling at an altitude of 40,000 feet.

The Flying Palace boasts a range of lavish amenities, from a gold-rimmed king-sized bed, tastefully designed decor, and an en-suite bathroom, exclusive enough for the wealthiest of travellers. The expansive interior also incorporates several bedrooms, a dining room, and a vast common area. The master bedroom, often cited as the most luxurious in aviation history, is a standout feature of the Boeing 747-8.

First used in 2005, the plane, designed by French designer Alberto Pinto, can accommodate up to 467 passengers. The master bedroom, located beneath the cockpit, offers the utmost privacy on the plane. It is far from the loudest parts of the engine and secluded from other travellers, with a centrally located bed adorned with a glossy gold finish to epitomise luxury.

The entire cabin boasts intelligent touch screen-controlled lighting. The en-suite bathroom, complete with mirrored walls and various fixtures, can take your breath away. The wooden furniture serves to accentuate the gold trim.

A grand staircase, seemingly made entirely of gold, leads from the master bedroom to the main level of the jet. This level, the largest upper deck of any jumbo jet ever built, welcomes guests with a sizeable lounge filled with all the comforts needed for long-haul travel.

In addition to this, bookcases that blend seamlessly with the colour scheme and a large flat-screen TV cater to those utilising the private sofa. The value is further enhanced by contemporary, beautifully patterned artwork on the walls.

Recently, a significant price drop was announced for the world’s most expensive aeroplane ticket, offering lucky travellers a five-star experience in the sky. The ticket costs 16 million baht, for a 90-minute journey, reported Sanook.
