Rawai residents who register for a vaccine have a chance to win gold, cash

Rawai residents who register for a Covid-19 vaccine have a chance to win gold. In an incentive to get people vaccinated, Phuket’s Rawai municipality is starting a lucky draw with 10 gold necklaces as well as cash prizes up for grabs.
Many governments and businesses in Thailand and overseas have started incentives to entice people to get vaccinated. A town in Chiang Mai is giving away a live cow each week to residents who have registered for a vaccine. In the US, the group “Joints for jabs” handed out cannabis to vaccinated people in New York City and the campaign “#ShotforSam” gave out $7 USD credits for a Sam Adams beer to people who were fully vaccinated against Covid.
In Rawai, the incentive seems to be working. So far, around 70% of Rawai residents have registered for a vaccine, according to Mayor Aroon Solos. While it’s enough to reach herd immunity, he says he hopes 90% of residents register for a vaccine.
Phuket is set to reopen in July to foreign tourists who are vaccinated against Covid-19 and local officials still need to vaccinate at least 70% of the island’s population by the end of June.

So the only way to get the masses to take the Sinovac junk is to bribe them. Must be the only country on the planet to do things like this. Take the useless CCP vaccine and you might win this or that, never mind the side effects in a couple of weeks and a chance of catching the virus despite beeing vaccinated. Money obsession has no limits with this population.
No Timmytime. It’s not the only country in the world using prizes to encourage vaccination. I agree that the Chinese Vaccines have lower efficacy than other vaccines. But as Thailand was so complacent (like my own country…because of controlling the virus initially), they missed the boat on procuring better vaccines and are now playing catchup!
I will give this one month before some Thais works out how to corrupt these schemes.
They cannot stop themselves.
Agreed
You know what is the funny part of this story?
If you are a foreigner working in Thailand (like a teacher for example) and you wish to wait for a better vaccine or pay for a better one, forget it!
Now you MUST be vaccinated within June and before going back to work, which means that you are inevitably forced to accept the Sinovac Jab, otherwise you will be simply fired and not allowed to work anymore.
In this country the government always start trying to flaunt a democratic style, but in the end they act as a pure dictatorship, in the fabolous LOS, now “Land of Sinovac”.
Get it or go away!
@Timmytime – what are you talking about. The US is offering donuts, burgers and fries and lap dances.
@Jack Ohio offered college scholarship, LA offered park tickets.
@Timmytime –
Its just what you say! Discusting behavior
And how about the 30000 plus foreigners living in Phuket who have not been offered any vaccine. Why are they being ignored ? Any chance the media will confront these Phuket authorities ?
@Timmytime – Pity that you have no idea what you are talking about! ALL the inoculations are a “crap shoot” and are no better or worse than each other. They are all gene altering poisons, no matter which one you are stupid enough to let them shove into you! Best of luck dealing with the side effect, you’ll need it.
How do your know they are gene altering poison then, are you in the know more than boffins and scientists it very much sounds like it. Another know all who knows nothing
@The Irish wanderer – ignored.
What 30000 foreigners? Are there 30000 foreigners there?
@Abbis –
Ah! An English Teecher! Please explain what you mean by “within June”:
“If you are a foreigner working in Thailand (like a teacher for example) and you wish to wait for a better vaccine or pay for a better one, forget it!
Now you MUST be vaccinated within June… ”
No native English speaker would say “within June”.
They can win gold or cash, or it may save there life
And all I got was this lousy vaccine
@Steven Ginn – exactly
