BMW driver intentionally crashes and forces pickup into barrier

An alleged local political candidate in the central province of Pathum Thani crashed his BMW into a pickup following a road dispute, leaving the pickup driver seriously injured. The victim reportedly apologised to the BMW driver earlier, but the latter ignored the apology.

The Facebook page Here on Board (เฮียขับรถ) shared dashcam footage submitted by a follower on April 16, which appeared to show the BMW driver deliberately hitting the pickup on a motorway in Pathum Thani. The caption accompanying the post read…

“The people in the pickup were an elderly couple. The pickup driver had already apologised to the BMW driver for a row that occurred shortly before the incident, but the BMW driver ignored him. The pickup driver sustained broken ribs and remains in the intensive care unit (ICU).”

In the video, a brand new white BMW sedan can be seen forcing a black pickup into another lane as it tried to avoid a collision. The BMW continued to edge closer, repeatedly attempting to overtake the pickup from the front.

Eventually, the BMW struck the front of the pickup, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a traffic barrier on the right side of the road.

The female passenger in the pickup sustained minor injuries, while the driver suffered broken ribs. The BMW driver was unharmed and was seen exiting his vehicle after the crash.

Esor News reported that the two drivers had argued at a toll gate before the incident. The BMW driver allegedly attempted to cut in front of the pickup as it approached the toll gate, but the pickup driver refused to give way, which angered the BMW driver.

Another motorist later submitted his dashcam footage to the Here on Board platform, showing the same BMW driving recklessly at high speed, cutting him off and nearly crashing into a footpath. Shortly after, he witnessed the incident involving the pickup and recognised the same vehicle.

The BMW driver is reportedly the son of an influential politician in Pathum Thani. Both he and his father are said to be candidates in the upcoming local government election. However, the BMW driver himself has yet to speak to the media to give his side of the story.
