2 new cases of Covid-19, both Thai returnees from UK and South Africa

Thailand has confirmed 2 new cases today of asymptomatic Covid-19, both Thai returnees from the UK and South Africa. One 27 year old Thai student had tested positive on Friday after arriving from the UK last Monday. She was transferred to a quarantine facility in Samut Prakarn Hospital after receiving the positive results.

The other case was also a 19 year old Thai student, who arrived from South Africa last Monday and tested positive while he was quarantined in Bangkok. He was transferred to Prasat Neurological Institute.

The total confirmed cases in Thailand sit at 3,585, with fatalities unchanged at 59. The Centre for Covid Situation Administration says at least 427 Thai citizens will return tomorrow, with 300 alone from the UK.

Six species of human coronaviruses are known, with one species subdivided into two different strains, making seven strains of human coronaviruses altogether. The problem is corona virus is very common and a blood test is the only way to identify COVID 19 if testing is not corrected now Thailand will never open again as for the vaccine we have to be honest to the population and explain that the vaccine will not cure all Covid family and at any time the stains change better to get a less infection stain to protect us against Covid 19

Vaccines, at least at the moment, don’t “cure” any virus. It simply isn’t what vaccines do – at best, they only prevent.

Treatment and “cure” is a whole different ball-game, and progress there appears to be minimal – understandably, the lowest priority of vaccine / test / treat studies.

I’d suggest that as far as “opening up” any country goes, the priority has to be on an accurate, quick test that can be applied to any and all crossing the border. Without that the options are limited and the risks too high to be rationally acceptable.

I suggest we not waste anymore time with testing and go back to normal already. This who crisis was fabricated by the media. There are many more important problems to focus on.

With international flights more or les banned, foreign tourists meticulously testet for Covid prior to boarding a flight to Thailand, how is it possible that passengers arrive testing positive with the virus. Is it possible that certain passengers do not need to proof that they had a negative Covid test prior to travelling?
