A 30 year old woman named Sudawan, who went online to post pictures of herself, apparently dead with cotton wool stuffed up her nose, has now been located.

Relatives went to the police because they did not believe she was dead. They told police that they thought she went into hiding after finding out she had to pay 1,800 baht interest per day to loan sharks.

According to Sanook, Krabi provincial police say they took on the case after it created a lot of public interest.

Police reported that the woman from Ao Nang, Krabi had been found at a close friend’s house in Phichit in Thailand’s north central region. Relatives confirmed that she was very much alive.

Now the police say they will help to broker an agreement between her and the people who loaned her the money. An arrest will be made if the ‘loaners’ broke laws related to loan sharking by demanding too high interest rates.

At this stage the Krabi woman has been charged for faking her own death.
