Singaporean man hides in Myanmar after death of Thai girlfriend

The Singaporean man suspected of murdering his Thai girlfriend in a Bangkok condominium reportedly fled Thailand to hide in the Tachileik area o.f Myanmar.

The 30 year old Thai woman, Proudphilas Paladon, was found lying lifeless and naked in the bathroom of her accommodation on the 22nd floor of a condominium in Bangkok on Tuesday, March 25. Her body was covered with two layers of cloth and a blanket, while her head was wrapped in a white cloth.

A security camera captured her Singaporean boyfriend, Daniel Benjamin Goh Wei-en, leaving the condominium in a black Mercedes-Benz at 3.17pm on Tuesday with his belongings. Proudphilas’s luxury watch, designer handbag, and other possessions were also missing.

According to an autopsy report, Proudphilas died from acute heart failure. She had bruises on her arms and mouth, but no visible wounds were found on her body. Further investigations are being carried out to determine whether she had any toxins in her system.

Police confirmed that only the couple lived in the condominium unit, and no one else had visited or entered the room during the time of the incident.

Proudphilas’s mother is convinced that Daniel murdered her daughter, as Proudphilas had sent her pictures multiple times showing wounds and bruises from alleged abuse by Daniel. On one occasion, Proudphilas had told her mother…

“If I go missing for two nights, you can suspect no one but him (Daniel). It’s him who hurts me.”

Police later discovered that Daniel had booked a car via an app to take him from the condominium to a restaurant in Soi Sukhumvit 71. He then used the same car to travel to a hotel in the Makkasan area of Bangkok.

A witness reported to the police that Daniel met two men at the hotel before they left together in an Isuzu Mu-X SUV, travelling from Bangkok to the Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai in northern Thailand.
