A chaotic scene unfolded on December 27 evening on Pattaya’s Buakhao Road when a foreign man allegedly set off a firework, causing injuries and property damage. The incident, which occurred at 8.30pm, left Thais and tourists scrambling for safety as sparks ignited panic and a nearby shop suffered damage.

CCTV footage captured when the man incorrectly positioned the firework upside down, leading to a violent explosion. Pedestrians hurriedly fled the area as the blaze spread to a convenience store, affecting merchandise and adding to the chaos.

Witnesses described the individual, noting his distinct appearance: bald, heavily tattooed, heavyset, and approximately 190 centimetres tall. Despite the commotion, the man reportedly escaped through a bar, evading injured victims who attempted to apprehend him, before being seen entering a ride-hailing vehicle in Central Pattaya.

Several individuals, including those suffering from burn injuries, have lodged complaints with local police, prompting an investigation. Witnesses claimed the suspect appeared intoxicated and indifferent to the havoc he caused, reported The Pattaya News.

Police are actively reviewing the CCTV footage and have called on the public for assistance in tracking down the suspect.
